What Is Nuclear Weapon?

Nuclear Weapon. A nuclear weapon is an explosive device that produces destructive force from reaction of nuclear by fission or a combination of fusion and fission. Only from relatively small amounts of matter, both reactions release vast quantities of energy. Approximately, amount of 20,000 tons of TNT energy was released by the first fission bomb test. Meanwhile, the same amount of energy as approximately 10,000,000 tons of TNT was released by the first thermonuclear bomb test.

A weight of modern thermonuclear weapon little more than 2,400 pounds, and this can produce an explosive force comparable to the detonation of more than 1.2 million tons of TNT. So, even a small nuclear device no larger than traditional bombs can devastate an entire city by fire, blast and radiation. These weapons are considered as mass destruction weapon.
